The Godfather of Soul, James Brown actually passed away on December 25, 2006. Yet, his estate was finally distributed to his heirs yesterday… First of all, is anyone besides myself curious about what kind of money James Brown had? I think the real question is who gets that amazing robin’s egg blue needlepoint leisure suit that he wore in the Living in America video that he recorded for Rocky IV? Whoever stakes their claim to that sweet piece of history, call me.
Anyhoo, half of Brown’s assets were put into a charitable trust, while one quarter of the remainder when to his most recent wife, Tomi Rae Hynie (ha, ha, hynie) Brown and their young son. The last quarter (and all Brown’s good wigs) was split among Brown’s six adult children. Huh!
